Weltrade synthetic indices -Secrets
Weltrade synthetic indices, called SyntX, are a set of 11 trading tools made by a computer. You can trade them 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They are not tied to real news or real markets. A computer program makes the prices instead.
This guide explains every SyntX index in very simple English. By the end, you will know what each one does before you risk a single rand.
Many South African traders know synthetic indices from Deriv. Weltrade now has its own set. Some of them work in ways you will not find anywhere else. Let's go through them one by one.
What Are Synthetic Indices?
A synthetic index is a “fake market” that moves like a real one. A computer program makes the price using a random number generator (RNG). No real asset sits behind the price. Because of this, synthetic indices:
- Never close. You can trade at 2am, on weekends, and on public holidays.
- Ignore the news. Wars, elections, and interest rates do not move these prices.
- Follow set rules. Each index has a pattern you can learn.
This is why many South Africans like them. If you work a 9-to-5 job, you can still trade at night or on weekends, when forex is quiet or closed.
What Is Weltrade SyntX?
SyntX is the name for Weltrade's synthetic indices. Weltrade is a broker that started in 2006. You trade SyntX on the MetaTrader 5 (MT5) platform.
Weltrade says its SyntX range gives you:
- Leverage up to 1:10000 on some indices
- Spreads 5–10 times lower than normal instruments
- Price swings up to 8 times bigger than gold (XAU/USD)
- 24/7 trading — the market never closes
You trade SyntX on a special account called a SyntX account. You can start with a very small amount. Weltrade's help centre lists a start point of just $0.20 (about R4). The main site mentions a $1 minimum deposit.

All 11 Weltrade Synthetic Indices Explained
Here is every SyntX index in plain words. They fall into four groups: volatility, directional, switching, and progression indices.
1. FX Vol. (Volatility Indices)
The number in the name is the yearly volatility. FX Vol.20 can move about 20% in a year. FX Vol.99 can move about 99%. For comparison, gold usually moves 10–30% a year. A bigger number means bigger price swings and more chances to trade. It also means more risk.
Best for: Everyone. New? Pick a low number. Want action? Pick a high one. This is the closest match to Deriv's Volatility indices, like V75.
2. SFX Vol. (Spike Volatility Indices)
SFX Vol. works just like FX Vol., but with one big extra. The price spikes up or down every 30 minutes on average. These spikes act like fake news events.
Best for: News traders and spike hunters who like sudden moves.
3. PainX
The price of PainX goes only up. Then, once every 400, 600, 800, 999, or 1200 ticks, it suddenly drops. The number in the name tells you how often the drop comes. Pain400 drops more often than Pain1200.
You never guess the direction. You buy, ride it up, and watch for the drop.
Best for: Beginners and scalpers. If you know Deriv's Boom indices, PainX will feel familiar.
4. GainX
GainX is the opposite of PainX. The price goes only down. Then, once every 400, 600, 800, 999, or 1200 ticks, it suddenly jumps up. You always sell, and you watch for the jump.
Best for: Beginners and scalpers. This is Weltrade's version of Deriv's Crash indices.
5. FlipX
At every step, FlipX has a 50/50 chance of going up or down. The step size is fixed, so there are no sudden spikes. The number in the name is the step size. The price moves smoothly and stays inside a range.
Best for: Range traders who buy low and sell high inside a channel. It feels like Deriv's Step Index.
6. SwitchX
SwitchX starts like GainX (price goes down, with jumps). Then, after one jump, the switch happens. The index flips and starts acting like PainX (price goes up, with drops). Your job is to spot when the switch happens.
Best for: Traders who like reading patterns. Deriv has nothing like this.
7. BreakX
BreakX also starts like GainX. After each jump, the program checks it against the last jump:
- If the new jump is bigger than the last one → it switches to PainX mode (price goes up).
- If the new jump is not bigger → the price keeps falling.
Watching the jump sizes is the whole game.
Best for: Breakout traders. This one is unique to Weltrade.
8. TrendX
TrendX starts like GainX. It only switches to PainX mode when a full trend change is confirmed:
- Uptrend = higher highs and higher lows
- Downtrend = lower highs and lower lows
Best for: Trend traders and chart readers who already use trends in forex.
9. PlusX 1
PlusX 1 is a progression index. Each step grows by exactly 1: the steps go 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and so on. The growth is slow, steady, and easy to predict. It is the clearest index in the whole SyntX range.
Best for: Strategy builders and beginners who want something predictable.
10. FiboX
FiboX follows the famous Fibonacci sequence. Each step is the sum of the two steps before it (1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13…). Growth starts slow and speeds up. If you use Fibonacci in forex, this will feel natural.
Best for: Chart readers and Fibonacci traders.
11. QuadX
QuadX uses square growth. Each step is a square number (1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36…). Early steps are tiny. Later steps are huge. It has the biggest profit chance of the progression indices in one trend. It also has the biggest risk if you enter late.
Best for: Experienced traders who want high risk and high reward.

SyntX vs Deriv: What Is Different?
Most South Africans meet synthetic indices through Deriv. Here is a quick, honest match-up:
- Same idea: FX Vol. is like Deriv's Volatility indices. PainX/GainX are like Boom/Crash. FlipX is like the Step Index.
- New with Weltrade: SwitchX, BreakX, TrendX, PlusX 1, FiboX, and QuadX have no direct Deriv match. The switching and progression logic is brand new.
- Platform: Weltrade SyntX runs on MT5. Deriv offers MT5 plus its own DTrader and Deriv Bot.
- Robots: Since SyntX runs on MT5, you can use Expert Advisors (EAs). But Deriv's free bot builder does not work here.

Simple Strategies for Each Index
- FX Vol. / SFX Vol.: Trade support and resistance. On SFX Vol., watch the 30-minute spike windows.
- PainX / GainX: Trade with the set direction (buy PainX, sell GainX). Close before the drop or jump is due.
- FlipX: Buy at the bottom of the range, sell at the top.
- SwitchX / BreakX / TrendX: Wait for the switch to confirm, then trade the new direction.
- PlusX 1 / FiboX / QuadX: Ride the steps, but tighten your stop-loss as steps get bigger. This is very important on QuadX.
The Risks You Must Know
Weltrade synthetic indices are not free money. Please remember:
- Leverage cuts both ways. At 1:5000 or 1:10000, a small move against you can wipe out your account.
- The broker makes the prices. The RNG belongs to Weltrade. You trust the broker's system, not an open market.
- South African cover is limited. The product supplier (Weltrade Ltd) is offshore and not FSCA-regulated, so local help is limited if things go wrong.
- Most people lose. Weltrade's own warning says most retail traders lose money.
Trade only with money you can afford to lose. Always start on a demo account.
